About Artwork:
This work explores the hidden architecture through which inheritance becomes identity.
Rather than depicting botanical roots, Origin Network presents an internal map of inherited pathways — invisible systems through which ancestry, memory, biological patterns, historical events, and cultural legacy quietly shape identity long before conscious choice begins.
Three dominant roots carry different forms of transmission. Dark marks suggest biological vulnerability and inherited conditions. A spiral continues across a rupture, evoking events that alter the trajectory of a lineage — migration, displacement, war, loss, union, or other historical breaks. A knotted root suggests repetition: habits, gestures, phrases, traditions, choices, and behavioural patterns that circulate across generations.
Beneath the visible surface, eye-like forms suggest ancestral presence — traces of those who came before and participated in forming the structure that exists now. Symbolic nodes mark events and moments of transmission, preservation, interruption, and transformation, while dispersed forms move through the surrounding space like breath.
The composition magnifies what normally remains unseen: the silent frameworks that precede personal experience. At the upper edge, a fragment of the bulb marks the point where these inherited pathways converge and continue into the emerging organism.
Through naive symbolism and emotional cartography, the painting proposes that every human life emerges from networks older than itself. What we inherit is not simply preserved: it is repeated, interrupted, transformed, and redirected across generations. Every structure carries memory.
