Method
In this section, I present the Emotional Cartography Method in its practical dimension — as a system through which symbolic structures become instruments for exploring human experience and constructing meaning.
My method is based on constructing emotional cartographies through a structured symbolic system.
Each project begins with focused research. I study the psychological, cultural or territorial context of the series — depending on its scale. This includes observing patterns of human behaviour, exploring historical layers, examining folklore, national symbols and natural forms connected to a specific place.
From this research, I identify elements that function as carriers of meaning. These may be plants, animals, organic forms or archetypal structures that hold both cultural specificity and universal resonance.
Symbol formation is central to my process. Drawing from my background in archaeology, cultural studies and brand design, I translate complex narratives into clear visual signs. Each symbol must be structurally coherent, recognisable and capable of carrying layered meaning without losing visual simplicity.
Composition is built as a system rather than a scene. Black contour establishes boundaries and structural clarity. Pure colour transmits emotional atmosphere. Repetition, internal detailing and embedded symbols create depth within simplified form.
Each work functions simultaneously as an independent image and as a coordinate within a larger conceptual map. Across a series, these works form an interconnected structure — an emotional and symbolic cartography expanding from the inner human landscape toward collective and territorial identity.
