Films as Paintings
Cinema is not my subject but my starting point. I use films as visual and philosophical encounters that continue long after the final frame. Rather than illustrating a story or depicting its characters, I translate what remains: an atmosphere, an idea, a symbolic structure, or a lasting emotional memory.
Each painting becomes an independent work. The film serves as a catalyst rather than a source, allowing me to explore universal questions through the language of Naive Symbolism. In this way, cinema is transformed into painting, and narrative into visual reflection.

About Artwork:
This painting was created in response to The Tree of Life (2011), directed by Terrence Malick.
Rather than retelling the film, it reflects on the idea that stayed with me after watching it: that human life unfolds within something far greater than itself. Memory, childhood, love, nature, and time are not separate experiences but parts of a single living structure.
At the centre of the composition stands a symbolic tree whose roots reach into memory while its crown holds a family as the heart of its universe. The trunk becomes a bridge between earth and sky, suggesting that personal history and the wider rhythms of life are inseparable.
The painting is not an interpretation of a particular scene but a visual meditation on what the film leaves behind after its narrative ends. It transforms cinematic experience into symbolic form, exploring how light, memory, and belonging continue to shape us long after the image has disappeared.
